I'm Katy, your storytelling photographer! I grew up in Maple Ridge, but throughout my life I lived in Nelson, B.C., Fairbanks, Alaska, Kelowna, B.C., and am now happily residing in Summerland, B.C. where my husband and I decided was the most beautiful community to settle down in to raise our son Kezlin. My son was born in 2018, and he is my light who inspired me to start Moments for Mamas. I feel a rush when I capture the most incredible connections through my lens - and then when I begin the editing process I complete my vision by chasing colours, adding warmth, enhancing those rich, earthy tones, and bringing my art to life. I shoot when the light is soft and luminous at sunset.

Our world is focused so much on what's visually appealing. The cover of a book. I want to open the book and focus on the pages that make everything a story. I want the real. As a child, I thrived on genuine human connection and that's what I'm really after when I'm telling a family's story at a session - real connection letting families be who they are in the moment. At your session I spend most of my time simply observing and capturing all the details that usually get overlooked. I’m inspired by the strength of women, the 60's/70's era and a bit of the 90's,, movement, nature, and everything that keeps us grounded to our Earth.
